Bikram Yoga

Yoga is a conventional body and mind discipline practice which originates from India. Patanjali is considered to be the source of this great philosophy, which is gaining importance all around the world because of its many benefits on our mental and physical health.

One of the forms of Yoga is the Bikram Yoga, otherwise known as hot yoga, which has been created by Bikram Choudhary in the early 1970s. This has been developed from the broader Hatha Yoga. Consisting of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, it is practiced in a room with temperature around 46°C/114°F and with a humidity of 40%. This form is meant to make the body more flexible and helps in cleansing of harmful toxins.

Bikram Yoga is believed to work on every organ of the body, internal and external, so that they are healthier and more functional. Upon practicing regularly, common health problems like alignment, diabetes, insomnia, blood pressure, etc. can easily be reduced.

Since its inception, it has fast grown to being the most popular forms of yoga in the recent past. One of the many benefits of this form is that it helps in preventing injuries, as your body gets stronger with practice.

The importance of doing it in a preheated room is that this helps in releasing all the toxins collected in our body over time, especially in the colon. The Bikram Yoga is a natural method of getting rid of these toxins and you do not have to worry about any side effects.

The heat also helps the muscles to loosen up so the postures can be practiced with ease. This has to be done under the guidance of a certified teacher and there are many centers worldwide which provide such training.
